Information for bin users;
- Casual Skip or Hook bins for FLOODWASTE
Please keep in mind that there are thousands of sites that require bulk disposal – which has been hampered to date by road closures, bridge washouts, Landfill closures and other disposal site inaccessibility or full shut down.
The way you can help us and your neighbours and friends is as follows;
a) Have your waste ‘pre-piled’ up ready to go straight into the skip or hook
b) Be on site when the skip or hook is delivered to ensure safe drop off as drains/culverts/driveways are unstable/obscured by silt and you know your property and its solid access best of all
c) Have as many hands on site as soon as we drop the bin off to immediately fill the skip or hook – as we’d love to see 24 hour turnarounds for everyone or even less (Hooray to you absolute CHAMPIONS that have filled bins within an hour – you are absolute superstars)
d) Call us and confirm to us as soon as your skip or hook is full and ready to remove or swap – no one bin will be left on site longer than 2 days, IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU FOR A SWAP IT WILL SIMPLY BE REMOVED AFTER 2 DAYS – but as we say we are hoping for 24 hour turnarounds and have committed team members to this
e) If you book online via email – have your name/address/phone and insurance company in the body of the email and details of exactly where you’d like the bin placed on site – use cones if necessary especially where driveways have been washed away, but preferably see b) – you will be required to pay the account to us in the first instance and then be reimbursed directly by your insurers for the floodwaste removed – we do accept VISA and MASTERCARD if you wish to pay this way, just let us know when you book in
f) SILT IS PROHIBITED YOU MAY NOT PUT SILT INTO THE BIN PROVIDED TO YOU
g) DEAD LIVESTOCK IS PROHIBITED YOU MUST NOT PUT INTO THE BIN PROVIDED TO YOU – PLEASE CONTACT THE NCC OR THE HDC ABOUT THIS
h) Do your best – and we will too – we know this is really tough - like you, we and our team have been affected by the flooding as well and have had little sleep or rest since our own evacuations, returns and working on the clean up in Hawke’s Bay – but we can do this Hawke’s Bay – we’ve been inspired by the amazing acts of bravery, generosity and hope every day
